Panchakarma treatments are part of Shodhana treatment. “Pancha” means Five and “Karma” means action.
Shodhana treatments are mainly purification or detoxification which include panchakarma treatments . They are Vamana (medicated emesis therapy), Virechana ( medicated purgation therapy), Vasti (Medicated Enema), Nasya (administration of medications, through the nose) and Raktha Moksahana(bloodletting ). Shamana treatments are used when the disease is in its initial stage and can be managed with medicines and lifestyle changes.
Panchakrama treatments require some preparatory sessions. That is called Snehana, Swedana and Rookshana treatments. In some conditions Snehana, Swedana and Rookshana itself will give the required results for the condition.
At Swastha.Life we decide the nature of the treatment to be adopted as per the thorough examination of the patient.
